Planet Fitness is hiring for Club Manager
The Club Manager is responsible for overseeing all gym operations to ensure a consistently exceptional “Judgement Free” member experience and the financial success of the club. This role leads and develops a high-performing team in a positive, motivating environment with a strong focus on customer service, staff development, and operational excellence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Staff Management
Recruit, hire, train, and develop a high-performing team including Assistant Managers, Member Service Representatives, Trainers, and Custodians.
Lead by example and hold team members accountable to company values and goals.
Schedule staff to ensure full shift coverage.
Handle employee concerns, performance issues, and disciplinary actions.
Process weekly/bi-weekly payroll and prepare HR-related documentation.
Customer Service & Front Desk Operations
Answering phones
Member check-ins
New member sign-ups
Providing tours
Resolving member issues
Facility Operations & Maintenance
Ensure timely opening and closing of the gym.
Maintain a clean, safe, and well-functioning facility.
Identify and report equipment repairs.
Oversee daily cleaning responsibilities.
Marketing & Financial Oversight
Ensure team is trained on current marketing promotions.
Authorize expenditures and process refunds.
Make daily bank deposits.
Track and report club performance metrics (weekly, monthly, annually).
Backup Support
Provide support across departments and cover absent employees when needed.
Qualifications/Requirements
High school diploma or GED required.
At least 1 year of experience as a Club Manager or Assistant Manager in the fitness industry within the past 5 years.
Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer systems.
Energetic, hardworking, and enthusiastic.
CPR Certification (current).
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Physical Demands
Stand and walk continuously during shift.
Talk in person or by phone frequently.
Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
May encounter cleaning chemicals during shifts.
Must be able to work a minimum of 45 hours per week.
