Dollar General is hiring for Maintenance Mechanic

The Maintenance Technician ensures that all machines and equipment within the facility are operational and maintained to support business needs. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on various equipment, including lift trucks, conveyors, and building utilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and repair lift trucks, pallet jacks, and cat fork trucks, including hydraulics, motor and drive unit replacement, and tire replacement.
• Conduct basic programming for access modules on rolling stock and replace components such as tanks, forks, pedals, and cylinders.
• Maintain and repair conveyor systems by troubleshooting electrical and mechanical components.
• Diagnose and repair Graphical Monitoring Systems (GMS), programmable logic controllers, and RTS (pick-to-light system).
• Fabricate machine parts that are unavailable for purchase.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks to ensure equipment longevity.
• Operate battery change equipment for powered industrial trucks.
• Conduct minor building maintenance, including plumbing and electrical repairs.
• Repair and maintain racking systems.
• Operate a scrubber/sweeper machine as needed.
• Adhere to safety, quality, and productivity standards.

Qualifications:

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in operating band saws, drill presses, hand tools, vises, clamps, gear pullers, bearing pullers, lathes, volt/amp meters, calipers, and rolling stock equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Strong mathematical and computer skills.
• Experience with sortview, RTC, HSM, VFD, and RTS systems.

Education & Experience:

• Knowledge of Electricity 1 (Basic) and Electricity IV (Motor Controls, AC/DC Electrical Controls).

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

• Work performed in various climatic conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
• Frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, squatting, and kneeling.
• Exposure to noise and heights in a fast-paced environment.
• May require working in confined or tight spaces for certain repairs.
