The Store Manager at Dollar General is responsible for overseeing daily store operations, ensuring excellent customer service, managing employees, and maximizing store profitability. This role includes inventory management, financial oversight, and compliance with company policies while fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management:

• Recruit, train, and develop store employees.
• Foster a culture that aligns with Dollar General’s mission and values.
• Set performance expectations and conduct employee evaluations.

Customer Service & Sales:

• Ensure superior customer service by maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming store environment.
• Drive sales growth by implementing effective merchandising and promotional strategies.
• Address customer concerns and resolve issues in a professional manner.

Financial & Operational Oversight:

• Achieve or exceed sales and profit goals.
• Monitor and manage store expenses to maintain budget targets.
• Ensure accurate cash handling and financial reporting.

Inventory & Merchandising:

• Manage stock levels to minimize shrink and ensure product availability.
• Oversee receiving, stocking, and rotation of merchandise.
• Implement planograms and promotional displays according to company guidelines.

Safety & Compliance:

• Enforce company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Maintain store security and prevent loss through effective loss prevention practices.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
• Minimum of two years of retail management experience.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong leadership and team-building skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and retail management software.
