The Store Clerk at Dollar General is responsible for providing excellent customer service, maintaining store cleanliness, stocking merchandise, and assisting in daily store operations. This role ensures that customers have a pleasant shopping experience while supporting the store team in meeting operational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

• Greet customers and provide assistance with locating products.
• Operate the cash register and process customer transactions accurately.
• Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues professionally.

Merchandising & Stocking:

• Unload trucks and receive shipments following company procedures.
• Stock shelves and ensure merchandise is displayed according to plan-o-grams.
• Rotate and face merchandise to maintain an organized appearance.
• Build and maintain promotional displays.

Store Maintenance & Operations:

• Maintain cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, and dusting the store.
• Remove trash and bail cardboard as needed.
• Clean restrooms and stock rooms to ensure a safe and tidy work environment.
• Follow all company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to operate a cash register and process transactions.
• Basic math skills for handling payments and making change.
• Ability to follow plan-o-grams and merchandise presentation guidelines.
• Understanding of store safety policies and best practices.

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior retail or customer service experience is a plus but not required.

Work Conditions:

• Ability to lift, push, or pull merchandise up to 50 lbs.
• Availability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as stocking and cleaning.
