The Retail Delivery Driver role at Dollar General requires the secure driving of a commercial truck to move products from distribution hubs, retail outlets, and other sites. Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle with efficiency.
• Transfer merchandise from distribution centers to retail outlets through freight transportation.
• Inspect the vehicle for any issues before departing and upon returning from a trip.
• Maintain compliance with regulations set forth by the Department of Transportation (DOT).
• Ensure that detailed logs are maintained for both driving hours and vehicle servicing.
• Follow the route plan to distribute and transport goods as needed.
• Stick to appointed courses and timelines for distributing goods.
• Stay in touch with dispatch to receive updates on routes and deliveries.
• Display a professional conduct when communicating with store staff and clients.
• Inform the maintenance department about any vehicle problems or safety hazards that need attention.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Official Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) status.
• The minimum age limit is commonly set at 21 years.
• A spotless driving record with minimal offenses logged.
• Fulfilling the DOT's standards for physical and medical qualifications.
• Preference will be given to individuals with previous experience in regional or OTR (Over-the-Road) driving roles.
• Proficient in managing time wisely and possessing strong organizational skills.
• Proficiency in hoisting, transporting, and relocating goods as necessary.

Work Environment & Schedule:

• Regular extended periods of driving.
• Entails the responsibility of transporting and delivering goods to specific stores.
• Availability for work may be required on weekends and holidays.
