The Store Operations Manager position at Dollar General encompasses the leadership, management, and financial success of a Dollar General outlet. Critical responsibilities include driving sales growth, offering exceptional customer service, and upholding store standards. Additionally, the Store Operations Manager must oversee the recruitment, training, and development of store personnel, as well as manage expenses and inventory to ensure the store's financial integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Staff Management:

• Spearhead the team, instill motivation, and foster the development of employees to secure efficient store operations and successful sales outcomes.
• Seek out, hire, educate, and ensure the loyalty of competent employees to satisfy store staffing needs.
• Direct and supervise store personnel while upholding company policies and procedures.
• Perform periodic evaluations of employees' work performance and give feedback accordingly.

Sales & Customer Service:

• Maintain exceptional customer service levels by warmly welcoming customers, providing assistance, and resolving any concerns promptly.
• Elevate store sales by promoting Dollar General products, managing shelf inventory, and implementing effective merchandising plans.
• Harness sales data and reports to keep track of and elevate sales performance.

Inventory & Merchandising:

• Direct the acceptance, arrangement, and systematic renewal of products to uphold exact inventory levels and ensure constant product availability.
• Enforce and upkeep store planograms, ensuring that merchandise is presented according to the standards set by the company.
• Preventing shrinkage and minimizing losses can be achieved by conducting regular inventory counts and audits.

Financial Management:

• Ensure the store's financial success by managing and optimizing payroll, cash handling procedures, and inventory expenses.
• Follow the cash management procedures diligently, which encompass maintaining cashier records, making timely bank deposits, and complying with the security protocols outlined by the company.
• Watch over and regulate costs to ascertain that the store is functioning within the approved budget framework.

Operational Excellence:

• Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and proper upkeep of the store consistently.
• Record sales, payroll, and administrative tasks meticulously to maintain accuracy.
• Verify that the store is abiding by all company policies, procedures, and legal stipulations.

Safety & Compliance:

• Adhere to safety rules and participate in regular safety meetings to promote a safe work atmosphere.
• Verify that the store operates in accordance with health and safety regulations outlined by local, state, and federal statutes.

Community Engagement:

• Create affiliations with clients and the neighboring community to promote a positive image of the store.
• Demonstrate professionalism and ethical behavior as a spokesperson for Dollar General.

Required Qualifications:

• The minimum educational requirement for the role is a high school diploma or its equivalent, although candidates with an Associate's or Bachelor's degree are preferred.
• The position mandates a minimum of one year of management experience within a retail setting.
• Strong leadership, effective communication, and skilled organization.
• Established expertise in handling a variety of tasks, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving skills coupled with the capacity for independent decision-making.
• Aptitude for executing mathematical calculations, encompassing addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Competence in standing for prolonged durations and actively circulating throughout the store premises.
• Capacity to operate essential store equipment, including cash registers, handheld devices, and pallet jacks adeptly.
• Regularly perform tasks that involve bending, stooping, and kneeling.
