Planet Fitness is hiring for General Manager
The General Manager is responsible for leading day-to-day operations of the club to ensure a high-quality member experience, operational efficiency, and achievement of financial goals. This position oversees all club functions including staff leadership, customer service, sales performance, and facility maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Staff Management
Recruit, train, schedule, and manage all club staff including Assistant Managers and Front Desk employees.
Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and support.
Ensure all staff adhere to company policies and maintain a professional work environment.
2. Customer Service & Member Experience
Create and sustain a welcoming, judgment-free environment for all members.
Handle escalated member issues and resolve concerns with professionalism and diplomacy.
Promote a culture of exceptional service and hospitality.
3. Operations & Compliance
Oversee club cleanliness, safety, and equipment maintenance.
Ensure daily operations are compliant with Planet Fitness brand standards and local regulations.
Open and close the club as required, ensuring proper procedures are followed.
4. Sales & Marketing
Monitor and drive performance in membership sales and retention.
Implement local marketing strategies and ensure promotional campaigns are executed effectively.
Analyze club performance metrics and adjust tactics to meet financial targets.
5. Financial Management
Manage club expenses and control budget to meet profitability goals.
Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as revenue, payroll, and inventory.
Ensure accurate payroll and proper handling of financial transactions.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED; college degree preferred
Minimum 2 years of management experience in a retail, fitness, or hospitality environment
Strong leadership and organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, POS systems, scheduling software)
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
Frequent talking on the phone and in-person interaction
